This great house located in the Bywater area of New Orleans is a fine example of a Creole Cottage. Creole cottages are one-and-a-half story set at ground level with gabled roof, separate entrance doors to each interior room, full front porch, central chimney, and usually situated on the front property line. The style is thought to have evolved from French and Spanish colonial house forms; however, the true origins are unclear. These beautiful architectural homes can be seen throughout the New Orleans area, especially in the Bywater area.
